Will my insurance
cover your services?
Almost every insurance company covers sleep disorders. However,
there can be some restrictions. We always check your benefits
upfront and will be able to give you a good idea of any portion
you may be responsible for paying.

What do I need to
do first?
You will be scheduled for a consultation with our board certified
sleep doctor. During this visit, the doctor will determine if
it is necessary to conduct a sleep study. If you are in need
of a sleep study, we will schedule it at this appointment. You
will be shown our sleep center so you will be familiar with where
you will be sleeping when you return for the sleep study.

What nights are
you open?
We are open seven days a week and can conduct your sleep study
any night that works best for you. We also perform sleep studies
in the daytime for second- and third-shift workers.

When will I know
the results of my sleep study?
Typically when we schedule you for your sleep study we also will
set up a time about a week later for you to review the results
of your study with the doctor. If your study shows that you have
severe sleep apnea we may call you to come in sooner for treatment.

Will I have my own
room?
Yes, we have 15 rooms.

May my spouse come
with me?
Yes, in fact we encourage you to bring your spouse for your visits
with the doctor since spouses usually can offer valuable input
and can tell the doctor what they observe while you sleep. If
you wish, he or she may stay the night with you on a rollaway
bed in your room. Please make arrangements with your scheduler
ahead of time so we can be prepared. Children or pets are not
permitted to stay overnight.

What should I wear?
We ask that you bring something comfortable to sleep in, such
as pajamas or sweatpants (shorts) and a T-shirt. Since you may
need to stay for additional testing the next day it is better
if you bring something that you can wear in the lounge between
naps. No, you may not sleep in the nude.

Will there be a television in
my room?
It is not good sleep hygiene to have a television on while you
are trying to sleep. This is why we do not have one in our sleep
rooms. However, there is a television in the lounge and you are
welcome to watch it until you are ready for bed.

May I bring my own
pillow?
There are two pillows on each bed, but you are welcome to bring
your own if you like.

What if the doctor
tells me I need to stay for more testing the next day?
Sometimes this is necessary to fully diagnose your sleep disorder.
If you need to stay for daytime naps we will wake you around
6 a.m. and feed you breakfast (we have oatmeal, cereal, breakfast
sandwiches, juice and decaf coffee). You will be taking naps
at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. We also furnish lunch
(usually we order LaRosa’s and you can pick what you like
from the menu). You may not have any caffeine during the day.

May I smoke?
We have an outside area where you may go to smoke. There are
some restrictions if you are here in the daytime for a nap test,
such as no smoking one-half hour before each nap. Your technician
can explain this to you.
